The General Board of Youth Activities exists for two reasons:
First, is to provide useful ministry tools for the local church. Our goal is to assist you with relevant resources, current trends, ideas, and do-able programs that will elevate your ministry. Second, it is our desire to equip and train the local youth leader for ministry. We want you to have a truly effective ministry, not measured by numbers or big events but determined by life change and spiritual growth. VISION Developing Youth programs and structures that fulfill our purpose. There are four essential components that create a blueprint that will help us in building an effective service to the local church and youth worker. BLUEPRINT Student Leaders Developing Student leaders is a priority. Studies such as ‘The Truth Project’ and ministries focusing on defining and cultivating spiritual gifts, growing and maturing as a Christian, gaining Biblical knowledge and training students with a call to full time Christian ministry. Hands on ministry on short mission trips and summer extended mission trips with Global Youth Ministries. We want to make missions the central part of the outward faith expression for the world and ethnic ministries in the USA. www.thetruthproject.org Resources Unstoppable Ministries: a website designed to create a network of resources for the local church. www.unstoppableministries.com FUEL You can only run on fumes for so long. FUEL is a leadership gathering designed to equip, encourage and network local youth leaders. FUEL offers a worship experience with fellow youth leaders, advance details of EMC youth events, and focus specifically on developing and equipping leadership skills. Where do you find this FUEL? At your conference retreats and summer camps. Conventions EMC Youth will continue to provide top quality youth events that allow teens to be a part of the big picture of what God is doing in our denomination. These events serve as a catalyst to life-defining moments in our teens and youth leaders. We will network with the Wesleyan Youth in their annual December Youth Convention in Orlando, Florida. |
